Being Childless

Even though a lot of people feel that having children when you get older is a burden, I can not picture  my future life without being the father of at least one kid. Yes, you need to spend a lot of money on a child, but seeing their smiling growing faces is what parenthood is all about. Having children enables you to raise a little version of yourself in the world, and hopefully you can mold that child into a better form of yourself. Also if you never have a child, who knows what your potential kid could have done. They may find some sort of cure for cancer, or own a successful business, you would just never know.
People claim that there is a pressure to produce a child, but there really isn't. It is all up to the adult to decide. The general public would clearly understand if you said that you did not want a kid because you wanted to pursue your career, or you felt like you could not be a good parent. Personally I would respect someone that did that because in order for you to successfully raise a child, you need to want to have the kid and be fully committed. Even though I do not feel like society pressures people into having kids, I feel like people are responsible to have a child, whether you have it yourself, or adopt it. I feel this way because adults should try to raise kids in order to solidify and help our futures.
If someone does choose to become a parent they need to make sure that they are one hundred percent sure that that is what they want. The last thing that a child would  need is parents that neglect him, or do not take care of him.
Even though bearing child is not necessary, helping in the upbringing of a child is, whether it is yours or not because the more support and fostering a child receives, the happier the child will be.
