Courage

In 2000 my grandpa was diagnosed with ALS, a disease that basically slowly kills you from the inside out. The way he took on his disease was the most courageous thing I have ever seen. He knew he was going to die a slow and painful death but that didn't stop him from being a great grandpa and even travelling the world. He took it like the strong man he was and he even would deny help just because of how strong of a person he was. He would tell me all of these make believe stories so he could see me smile. I came down to his house every weekend and it made his day everytime. I would help him eat and go through daily tasks and I didn't realize what was going on at the time, but now I realize how courageous he was. He took on one of the nastiest diseases head on, knowing what was happening to him, just to trying to live his life to the fullest.
